Leadership Backed by Action

Demi Palecek has dedicated her life to service.  A member of the Illinois National Guard, she protected our U.S. Capitol - and our democracy - in the wake of the January 6th insurrection. An advocate for our community, she is an IWIL alum and has held leadership roles with the 46th Ward Democrats & Illinois Veterans for Change. With experience in advocacy, policy, organizing, and communications, she will bring ethics, discipline, empathy, and real-world insight to our legislature.

Demi doesn’t just talk about change, she gets to work and makes it happen.

Demi's Priorities. Our Future.

Affordable Healthcare

The state of Illinois needs legislators ready to respond to the billions of dollars in health care cuts Donald Trump has imposed on our state.  Demi will fight to expand mental health access locally, and help build a resilient Illinois healthcare system that meets people where they are; affordable, comprehensive, and without stigma.

Reproductive Freedom

Demi will use every possible legislative tool to protect those seeking abortions from a savage and relentless nationwide assault on our rights. Every person should have full control over their body and future. Demi will fight to expand access to abortion care, contraception, fertility treatment, and maternal health.

Housing Rights

Rising rents and property taxes shouldn’t displace longtime residents. Demi supports rent control, eviction prevention, and increased affordable housing so everyone can thrive in the communities they call home.  She will be a leader in our state's response to the Trump administration's cruel federal housing program cuts.

Strong Public Schools

Demi believes every child deserves a well-funded public education. She’ll fight for universal pre-K, equitable CPS funding, safe transportation, and support services that help students succeed—no matter their zip code.

Economic Justice

From expanding apprenticeships to protecting union rights, Demi is a champion for working families. She’ll support small businesses, fair wages, and economic growth rooted in equity, not exploitation.

Climate Action

Our lakefront and neighborhoods need bold climate solutions. Demi will push for green energy jobs, transit investment, and clean water infrastructure to build a resilient, sustainable future for all.
